Harvested once in a year in the month of September and October, The walnut is 1st brought down from the tree by climbing the tree and making the walnuts fall with the help of a stick, The walnut at this times are covered in a green color covering known as the husk. After this process has completed it is then sent for uncovering, where the ladies or a machine is used to remove the husk of it either manually by a knife or through a machine which rotates like a washing machine to uncover the walnut with shell. After this the walnut is sun dried for about 5 sunny days to remove the moisture that the kernels hold inside, generally before this some batches of walnuts have to be water washed to remove the black organic substance from the shell of walnuts so that they are more presentable in the market. once the drying process is complete they are then sorted according to size and sent to market.
